Northampton Locksmiths approached me to redesign their very outdated website which was not mobile responsive. Even worse, the website did not even highlight many of the services they provide.

The completed website now allows them to rank for services like trophies and engraving as well as the more traditional key cutting and emergency locksmith enquiries. They have seen a huge increase in the number of reviews as a result.

The initial brief was to simply redesign an outdated website so that it would be mobile responsive and look modern and fresh. During the consultation it became clear that they were not targeting many search terms for services they provided. I agreed to handle the on page SEO to improve ranking but the client did not want to pay for SEO so no off page SEO was carried out like obtaining backlinks.

After understanding all the services provided and doing analysis on traffic for search terms the website was started. A dedicated page for each service helps them rank in Google for a wide number of keywords.

We explained how blogging could help them target even more keywords and some articles do well in Google search.

Having previously only ranked for terms like ‘Northampton Locksmith’ the business now ranks well for a wide range of terms like:

  • Key cutting Northampton
  • Engraving Northampton
  • Dimple keys
  • Emergency Locksmiths Northampton

Ideally I would like them to concentrate more on building backlinks citations to improve domain authority. I have also advised that targeting the online key cutting market should be explored as high street trading continues to get tougher.
