SEO Bedford case study
In this SEO Bedford case study I look at a new business called Bedford Dog Walker. I was able to get a Google page 1 ranking for the main keywords within 3 months.
SEO Bedford case study – Initial contact
I was originally contacted by Iain at the end of 2017. He had seen the website I had created for Northampton Dog Walker and wanted something similar for a new dog walking business he planned to start in Bedford. As well as the design of the website, Iain also wanted to take up my SEO guarantee service. This guarantee means you don’t pay my SEO fee until I get you on page 1 for the agreed keywords. The design of the website took about a month. Like all the websites I design it was built on WordPress. I then add a theme called GeneratePress and a page builder called Elementor.
The brief was that the website should be attractive so that it would give a good first impression to visitors. It also had to be mobile responsive so that it displayed well on all devices, including tablets and mobile phones. The final design contained the usual pages, namely Home, About Us, Services, Blog and Contact Us. It was explained to Iain that blogging was a good way to remain top of Google once the SEO service had been completed.
SEO Bedford – Search engine optimisation took 2 months
Having already designed the Northampton Dog Walker website I had a good idea what keywords to target. I used keyword analysis tools to check my assumptions were correct. This analysis is actually carried out prior to the design. When deciding on what pages to create, what to call them and what text to use you really want to know your keywords in advance. Crafting the pages to take advantage of the main keywords is known as on page optimisation.
The off page optimisation included building backlinks to the website. It was important that the website ranked well for organic searches as well as appear well in the local snack pack. Lots of work was carried out getting citations and completing the Google My Business profile fully. Since the website was handed over Iain has worked hard to get some reviews which has helped maintain his position in local search.
Bedford Dog Walker – Outcome
The outcome of this SEO Bedford case study was that I was able to get the website on page 1 of Google for the agreed search terms. Doing this in a short time frame is not always an easy task when you are competing against more established websites. As Iain’s website continues to age it will only gain more authority with Google.
